Description

This is another game made in collaboration with Kenobisboch Production, the idea behind this project is something extremely brilliant.

At the beginning of this project, the idea of recreating the game of the traditional italian game "Bocce" in virtual reality, didn't excited me so much, it is a game mainly played by the old mans, I was a bit disappointed about that Idea, but at the moment when Kenobisboch Productions delivered to us the first version of the Game Design Document, I quickly realized that this idea is pure madness, so mad that it could work.
It slowly became one of the coolest project where I worked in, we started with recreating in the best way possible the physics of the "Bocce".

In this project I worked as supervisor of the MasterVR team, after that we made the firsts blockouts of the system, and once they were approved by the Kenobisboch Team, we started working on the gameplay part.

In this project we encountered many challenges, first of all, we wanted that ou can see your fully working arms in VR, because that was an important part for defining the characters behaviours.

This was a challenge because we thought it was an easy thing, but it once we started developing the system, we found out that since the HTC Vive only tracks head and hands, estimate the shoulders position is not an easy thing, the problem is that if you turn your head or you turn your body, was the same thing for the system. Once we solved this, we had to work hard on the score system.

This was a great project, a demo for SteamVR is ready, but once the development has finished, I started working on a porting for the Nintendo Switch, I think that this could be a perfect party game for that kind of console.

In this project I worked as Technical Supervisor and Unity developer.
