Nameless Music Festival
July 11, 2013
The Nameless Music Festival is one of the most important Italian Electronic Music Festival. Since 2013, it brings more people at every edition, thanks to its venue based in Lecco and to the passion that the staff puts in its realization.
I worked in the firsts 2 editions of the festival as... it's hard to define this time, let's begin as interaction designer. I helped realizing part of the Visuals managing software, I coded a system in Max Msp that manages the input from some webcams and smartphones on the stage, at the same time my software provided a sort of Autopilot for some moments of the festival, everything is delivered at the end to the mapping software using the Syphon protocol.
Then during the festival I worked as videomaker, I was part of the team that created the footage for the Aftermovie.
And last but not least I also developed a low cost system to remotely control the camera on the crane, used for the aftermovie and the live streaming during the second edition of the festival. This system is completely 3D printed and consisted of 2 electronics servos controlled by an Arduino Uno which is connected via serial to a computer, which thanks to a Max Msp software shows the direct input from the camera and controls it using a midi console.
This was a very cool experience, the thousands things to do and the frenzy of that days forged me. I was also one of the artists in the lineup of the first edition of the festival, since during that period I was also an electronic music composer. Just a hint for who is trying to find me, I was wearing a mask.
